Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Velinto collects, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Summary
- Candidates use Velinto free of charge and are never required to pay for access, visibility or applications.
- Candidates control who can see their profile, including hiding it from named companies.
- We do not sell personal data.
- You can export or permanently delete your data at any time.
Data we collect
Candidates. Account details (name, email), profile information you provide (skills, work history, education, portfolio links), résumé files you upload, opportunity preferences, and visibility settings.
Employers. Account and company details, billing information for paid plans, job postings, and hiring activity within your workspace.
Both. Technical data such as device and browser information, and usage data about how the product is used, for security and product improvement.
How we use data
- To operate your account and provide the service
- To match candidates with relevant opportunities and employers with relevant candidates
- To suggest improvements to candidate profiles
- To process payments for employer plans
- To secure the platform and detect abuse
- To communicate service updates, and marketing messages you can opt out of
Automated processing is used for matching and screening. It supports human review — it does not replace it. See our Responsible AI page for how that boundary works.
Who can see candidate profiles
Candidate visibility is controlled by the candidate. Options include being discoverable to employers on Velinto, visible only to companies the candidate applies to, or hidden entirely while browsing. Candidates can also block named companies — commonly used to hide from a current employer.
When a candidate applies to a role, the relevant employer receives the profile information needed to evaluate that application.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract — such as cloud hosting, email delivery and payment processing — and where required by law.
Your rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Delete your profile and associated data permanently
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
Exercise any of these from your account settings, or by writing to privacy@velinto.in.
Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, data is removed from active systems promptly and from backups within the normal backup cycle, except where we must retain records to meet legal obligations.
Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring appropriate to the sensitivity of hiring data. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users and regulators of a breach as required by applicable law.
International transfers
Velinto operates from India and serves users internationally. Where data is transferred across borders, we apply safeguards appropriate to the receiving jurisdiction.
